Back when paper was for writing on as well as folding… — 2 Comments

  1. I love letter writing, and there is nothing like receiving a hand-written letter with an origami model inside. I also have saved all the letters from friends who fold paper.

Holding in my hands a model just out of an envelope never ceases to amaze me, even if I know how to fold it. It is magical!

Yes, we should keep on sending paper letters to origami friends.

  2. Thanks for posting that Nick. When I visited Japan for the first time I was given a small broach – about 1 inch across – by a lovely Japanese lady who was at the NOA meeting that year. I tried to replicate it and managed with 6″ paper, then a quarter size but that was the smallest I managed. I should have known it was by Fujioto-sensi.
